Susan Orr represents health care providers, including physicians, medical group practices, behavioral health specialists, home health agencies, ambulatory surgery centers and diagnostic testing facilities.

She represents and advises physicians and health care professionals on a variety of regulatory and transactional issues including clinical integration and practice mergers, medical records, privacy and confidentiality issues (HIPAA), fraud and abuse, health care compliance, Part B reimbursements and provider and facility licensing.

Having served as practice administrator for her husband’s medical practice for 12 years, Susan is uniquely qualified to assist clients on practice management issues including reimbursement and payment issues, Medicare and Medicaid compliance, managed care, employment issues, professional practice formation, practice mergers and acquisition and joint venture restructuring.

Her practice is enhanced by her law school experience as a research assistant to Barry Furrow, Director of the Health Law Institute at Widener University School of Law.

Susan is a regular speaker with the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians and the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians and is a regular contributor to both Keystone Physician and Perspectives.

  • Successfully represented a behavioral health provider in his appeal of a large overpayment demand by Medicare.
  • Represented investment capitalists in their purchase of several home health agencies.
  • Extensive experience representing medical practices in the sale of their practices to various health systems.
  • On-going representation of a large multi-specialty practice in its acquisition of medical practices.
  • On-going representation of non-profit ambulance companies in their merger with other similar companies.
  • Represented a physician group in their joint venture with a hospital system.
  • On-going representation of sleep centers, including credentialing with Medicare and third party payors.
