Trust & Estates Paralegal
Dilworth Paxson LLP seeks to hire an experienced, full-time Paralegal for our expanding Trusts & Estates practice in Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience in PA and NJ estate administration. In addition, the candidate must enjoy working in a collaborative fast-paced environment where the candidate will be expected to work independently to meet deadlines and effectively multi-task.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Handle PA & NJ estate administrations from start to finish, including probate, identification and collection of assets and debts, preparation and filing of federal and state death tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns and preparation of estate and trust accountings and nonjudicial settlement agreements. Lackner experience is helpful.
- Keep track of estate deadlines and ensure efficient administration of estates.
- Work independently and directly with families and personal representatives.
- Prepare correspondence to clients, investment advisors, and other professionals.
- Handle Orphans’ Court and Surrogate Court filings in various counties.
- Oversee the execution and notarization of documents (a notary license is preferred).
Required QualificationsÂ
Candidate must work well in a highly collaborative environment and be extremely organized, reliable and dependable. Candidate also must possess excellent writing skills, be detail-oriented and possess the ability to juggle multiple tasks and work well under pressure. Candidate must complete tasks without micro-management and have a professional demeanor and attitude. Substantial PA estate administration experience is required and NJ and NY experience is a plus.

Associate Attorney
Dilworth Paxson LLP is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with 4-7 years of experience to join our highly skilled and collaborative Trust & Estates Department in the Philadelphia office. Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, strong research, writing and analytical skills and sophisticated estate and gift tax expertise. Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar admissions are required and Florida and New York admissions are encouraged. An LLM in Taxation is preferred.
