Since its founding in 1933, Dilworth Paxson has pursued a unique approach to hiring, and Dilworth’s summer associate program is no exception. Instead of a summer filled only with researching and drafting a multitude of discrete memoranda, our summer clerks will participate in cases and transactions similar to the “real life” that our junior associates experience on a daily basis. Selected applicants will have the opportunity to work directly with some of the most recognized and talented lawyers in the Philadelphia region, including senior partners in the firm, on significant cases and transactions. Our summer clerkship will be individually tailored to the interests of the summer associate and the needs of the law firm.
Dilworth’s program is intended to be small in order to provide the individualized internship experience envisioned by the firm and to realistically meet our anticipated hiring needs for entry level associates. We encourage bright, well-qualified and energetic self-starters to apply for a Dilworth summer clerkship. While applicants with law review and/or moot court experience in the top 10% of the class are preferred, Dilworth recognizes that students who have prior or concurrent work experience often bring skills and judgment that may be more valuable to the practice of law than solely academic credentials. Salary for our summer clerks will be individually negotiated, but will be competitive.
