U.S. Supreme Court Held Mock Historical Trial with Linda Dale Hoffa as Trial Counsel
Dilworth Paxson Partner Linda Dale Hoffa participated as a trial lawyer in an extraordinary event that involved Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Stephen Breyer, and Justice Samuel Alito of the US Supreme Court, as well as Justices from the UK. Linda argued as counsel for a British Merchant in a historic trial, Georgia v. Brailsford, that was the first and only trial ever held before the U.S. Supreme Court and she did this in the place where the trial occurred in 1794 – the courtroom in Philadelphia’s Old City Hall next to Independence Hall Park where the Supreme Court first met from 1791 until 1801.
