The Richardson Dilworth Awards: Philadelphia Honors Three of its Best and Brightest

Chief Inspector Joseph Sullivan, who headed police response to the papal visit and the Democratic National Convention, was honored Tuesday for his 33 years in the police department. Inspector Sullivan was one of three recipients of the Richardson Dilworth Awards which recognizes full-time executive-branch employees. This honor comes with a $5,000 stipend from Dilworth Paxson LLP and Independence Blue Cross.

Additional awards for Innovation in Government and Customer Service were awarded to Laura Cassidy, Sustainability Manager for the Philadelphia Department of Prisons, and Joanne Dahme, General Manager for Public Affairs at the Philadelphia Water Department. Cassidy and Dahme each receive $1,000 prizes.

The Dilworth Awards were established in 2011 by former Mayor Michael A. Nutter to recognize annually the contributions of outstanding public employees for the city of Philadelphia. Showcasing excellence in Customer Service, Innovation, and Public Service, the Dilworth Awards continue to highlight these achievements from our city’s employees.
