Renee H. Martin Rejoins Dilworth Paxson LLP as Of Counsel in its Health Care Practice Group

January 14, 2019 (Philadelphia, PA) – Dilworth Paxson LLP is pleased to announce Renee H. Martin has rejoined the firm as of counsel in its Health Care Practice Group. Prior to returning to Dilworth, she served as senior vice president and general counsel for non-profit Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health.

Renee Martin’s practice focuses primarily on the representation of behavioral health and substance abuse providers, hospitals, home health care agencies, continuing care retirement communities, skilled nursing facilities, and other licensed facilities in matters involving Medicare and Medicaid regulatory compliance, licensure, survey and enforcement actions, reimbursement, and healthcare-related transactions.

Renee is also a recognized leader in the compliance and data breach response industries, providing and coordinating a variety of legal and professional services and audit products to identify, manage and remediate risk, vis-à-vis the privacy, security, and breach notification regulations promulgated under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH).

Before engaging in law, Renee received her master’s degree in nursing education, which led to working as a critical care nurse for a number of years. Her extensive clinical experience with hospitals, physician groups, and long-term care facilities enables her to provide unparalleled value to clients desiring to satisfy increasingly complex quality improvement, patient safety goals, and population health management obligations.

Renee has served on a number of non-profit boards over the past several years and is currently on the Board of Directors for Community Volunteers in Medicine. She graduated from Villanova University where she received both her J.D. and M.S.N with honors.

Dilworth health care attorneys formed one of the first accountable care organizations approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), and the firm continues to develop innovative health care alliances among providers, insurers, employers and commercial entities to master the challenges of the ever-changing health care environment. Dilworth’s healthcare attorneys also led the way for a number of for-profit hospitals and rehabilitation providers to be the first to enter exclusively non-profit healthcare markets in a number of states and the firm continues to cultivate for-profit/non-profit collaborations across industry niches today.
