Dilworth’s Michael Tierney Chosen by The Philadelphia Inquirer To Help Select an Emerging Icon in the Legal Profession

Dilworth’s Michael Tierney has been asked by the editorial staff of The Philadelphia Inquirer to serve on the independent judging panel to select an Emerging Icon in the legal profession for the Industry Icon Awards event on November 16 at Vie, located at 600 N. Broad Street. 

The seven Emerging Icons were nominated by readers on Philly.com in each of these seven categories: Arts & Entertainment; Finance; Non-Profit; Education & Medical; Legal; Real Estate; and Technology.

Philadelphia Media Network, publisher of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News, and Philly.com, have also recognized a select group of individuals who have shown exceptional success in their professional careers in addition to having made significant contributions to their community. These five Industry Icons will be inducted into The Philadelphia Inquirer Business Hall of Fame on the same evening.

The five Industry Icon Hall of Fame leaders are individuals who have achieved sustained business success and acumen, in addition to a track record for job creation, contributions to the local community, civic engagement, and perseverance against obstacles. This elite group was selected by Philanthropist H.F. “Gerry” Lenfest, PMN Publisher and CEO Terry Egger, PMN Vice President of New Operations Stan Wischnowski, and Inquirer Editor Bill Marimow, with input by senior editors.

The Philadelphia Inquirer Business Hall of Fame comprises:

  •  John C. (“Jack”) Bogle, founder and retired chairman and CEO, The Vanguard Group
  • JoAnne Epps, provost and executive vice president, Temple University
  • Joseph Neubauer, former CEO, Aramark Corporation
  •  Brian Roberts, chairman and CEO, Comcast Corporation
  • Ed Snider, former chairman, Comcast Spectacor, and founder, Philadelphia Flyers (posthumously)
