Dilworth Paxson’s Robyn Gigl Recognized for Gender Equity Advocacy with Woman as Agents of Change Award
Dilworth Paxson is pleased to announce that partner Robyn B. Gigl has received the Woman as Agents of Change Award from the American Association of University Women of New Jersey (AAUW NJ). This award is given to those who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to empowering women and uplifting communities through their visionary leadership, advocacy, and service.
The award was presented on June 20, 2026, during the AAUW NJ Annual Meeting at New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) Contemporary in Trenton, N.J. Other recipients included U.S. Rep. Analilia Meija and NJEA Vice President Petal Robertson.
“I am honored to be recognized as an advocate for equal rights and inclusion,” said Gigl. “Everyone deserves access to justice, and over the course of my career, I have worked hard to ensure that doors are opened for women and those in the LGTBQ+ community. It is so important that we continue to fight for the marginalized among us and speak out loudly for better, safer, and more welcoming schools and workplaces.”
Gigl served on the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Committee on Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement from 2015 to 2025 and is currently on the Court’s Committee on Wellness in Law. In 2024, she was appointed by Governor Murphy to be a Commissioner on the New Jersey Advisory Commission on Advancing LGBTQIA+ Youth Equity & Inclusion in Schools. In 2019, she was appointed by the Governor and Legislature to the New Jersey Transgender Equality Task Force. She served for four years as the Vice Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee, and from 2020-2022 on the Bar Association’s Committee on Racial Equality in the Law. She is a member of the Bar Association’s Women in the Profession Section and a Past Chair of the Bar’s LGBT Rights Section.
Gigl lectures frequently on diversity issues, and in particular on LGBTQ+ issues in the workplace and schools. She has been interviewed on NPR, spoken to many legal institutions, and conducted diversity training for numerous private employers and organizations.
AAUW NJ represents over 1200 members in 20 branches and 8 colleges throughout New Jersey. Established in 1881, the organization has fought to remove the barriers and biases that stand in the way of gender equity, especially in the areas of education and employment.
