Dilworth Paxson LLP Welcomes Ira N. Glauber to the Firm’s New York Office

January 31, 2017 (New York, NY) – Dilworth Paxson LLP is pleased to welcome Ira N. Glauber to the Firm as Of Counsel in its New York City office located at 99 Park Avenue. Ira is a commercial litigation attorney with more than 35 years of experience trying jury and non-jury cases in state and federal courts in New York and around the country, as well as in various securities-related arbitrations. He has represented several of the nation’s largest corporations, the sixth-largest privately owned company in the City of New York, and one of New York’s largest real estate holders.

Ira, a graduate of New York University School of Law, began his career in one of New York’s most prestigious and largest law firms and spent many years as the main trial attorney at a boutique litigation firm where he tried dozens of cases for significant corporate clients. His jury trial victories include million-dollar verdicts in cases involving the breakup of hedge funds, a suit over financing by a Wall Street clearing company, a suit against the landlord of a large commercial property relating to insurance coverage, and many other commercial disputes. His bench trials include suits relating to co-ops and condominiums, joint venture agreements, and employment matters, among other types of business disputes. His arbitrations were before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), and the New York Stock Exchange, and involved issues such as margin calls, the opening, and closing of securities accounts, and customer claims.

Ira has particular expertise in recovery of defaulted loans and enforcement of judgments in all 50 states. He represents banks, securities brokerage firms, financial service companies, factors, and other lenders in lawsuits to obtain repayment of secured and unsecured debts. Ira also specializes in enforcing U.S. judgments overseas and in representing foreign clients with litigation in U.S. courts.

On joining Dilworth Paxson, Ira stated, “I am proud to be a member of the Dilworth team and to practice law with such a distinguished group of attorneys. My goal is to offer clients in New York and New Jersey not only my expertise as a trial attorney and commercial litigator, but also to introduce them to the fine legal talent in Dilworth’s Philadelphia, Harrisburg, southern New Jersey, and Delaware offices.”

In addition to his courtroom skills as a trial lawyer, Ira has considerable experience drafting and arguing motions and appeals, having written and argued hundreds of motions to the Supreme Court of the State of New York and to the U. S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. He has written numerous appeal briefs and has orally argued many appeals in New York’s Appellate Division (First and Second Departments), and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
