Dilworth Attorneys Speaking for The Greater Valley Forge Human Resource Association

On June 27, 2013, Matthew Whitehorn, and Karen Palestini will be speaking about employer implications of the Affordable Care Act for The Greater Valley Forge Human Resource Association at Villanova University.

The three will be presenting “The Affordable Care Act (ACA): What Employers Need To Know and Do Now,” which will be an interactive workshop. It will cover how and when the employer shared responsibility excise tax applies, how the exchanges are supposed to work, how to determine full-time employees, the required exchange notices, purported compliance loopholes, and the growth of “private” exchanges. The presentation will address ACOs and emerging payment designs in the ACA era. What exactly are Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMHs)? What is their relationship to the ACA? Why should employers and plan sponsors care? The presentation will offer a focused discussion about the ACA from the “provider-side” for a better understanding of its “plan-side” effects. There will also be a Q&A session to address employer and plan sponsor questions on various aspects of health care reform.
