Dilworth Attorney James Landgraf Receives 2014 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award for Burlington County

At the Professionalism Awards Luncheon today in Somerset, New Jersey, Dilworth Paxson LLP attorney James H. Landgraf received the 2014 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award for Burlington County. The award is presented annually to lawyers from bar associations across the state who, by virtue of their character, competence, and exemplary professional conduct, set a positive example for others in the profession.

Mr. Landgraf was selected for the award by the Burlington County Bar Association and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law, a cooperative venture of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the state and federal judiciary, and New Jersey’s three law schools. The Commission was formed to strengthen the traditional values, and the sense of responsibility and public purpose, that have made the practice of law a distinguished profession.

James H. Landgraf is Of Counsel with Dilworth, based in the Firm’s office in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He has more than 30 years of experience handling construction contracting, construction litigation, and complex commercial and business litigation. His clients include public and private owners, commercial and residential real estate developers, prime contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, and design professionals. Just last month, he successfully represented 120 Route 73 Property, LLC—the property owner of the former DeSimone BMW dealership site in Marlton, New Jersey—in obtaining a unanimous jury verdict, which awarded the client over $2.6 million against the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation. 

Dedicated to serving the Burlington County legal community, Landgraf is a past president of the Burlington County Bar Association, a current Trustee of the Burlington County Bar Foundation, and the chair of the Commercial Law Subcommittee. He also currently serves as co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Construction Litigation Committee within the Section of Litigation.

Landgraf is admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey, as well as the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals Third Circuit, and the United States District Court New Jersey. Since 1988, he has been Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney. He is a graduate of Rutgers School of Law – Camden.
