Dilworth Adds Attorneys Georgette Miller and Michelle Lee
Miller’s practice of over two decades focuses on bankruptcy law, representing individual and commercial clients in bankruptcy proceedings in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. She has helped thousands obtain financial relief and reorganize their financial lives and businesses to create a stable future. Her experience includes representing debtors, creditors, lenders, creditors’ committees, potential acquirers, investors, and asset purchasers.
In addition to her bankruptcy practice, Miller has vast experience in real estate law. She counsels clients in the acquisition, construction, development, financing and leasing of residential, mixed-use, condominiums, commercial and retail projects. Her clients include individuals, developers and joint venture partners, small and large corporations, and governmental and quasi-governmental entities. She represents landlords and tenants, as well as buyers and sellers of real estate, giving her a deep understanding of the concerns of both parties to a transaction.
Lee, who previously practiced with Miller at Margolis Edelstein, holds a BA from University of Pennsylvania and JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and focuses on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She also has expertise in loan modifications, mortgage foreclosures, reverse mortgages, homeowner association litigation, and taxes.
“In the world of lateral hiring, one rarely finds two lawyers already together practicing together who are such a perfect fit with Dilworth’s culture and its commitment to legal excellence and diversity,” said Dilworth Chairman Larry McMichael. “From the moment that I met Georgette, I knew that she and Michelle would be a great match with our team at Dilworth. Because of their well-earned reputation in the Philadelphia and New Jersey legal community, Georgette and Michelle represent one of the most important and significant lateral moves in legal community this year.”
“There is no other firm in Philadelphia other than Dilworth, where I could bring both my Bankruptcy and Real Estate Practices and they fit so seamlessly,” said Georgette Miller. The lawyers at Dilworth are fantastic and my team is welcomed and supported, I can’t think of a better platform.”
