Clients rely on Lisa Nentwig to simplify complex estate planning and estate administration matters with clear guidance, thoughtful solutions, and unwavering responsiveness. With more than 25 years of trusts and estates experience, she combines sophisticated tax knowledge with practical judgment to help individuals and families protect their wealth, plan for the future, and navigate significant life transitions with confidence and peace of mind.
Lisa Nentwig is a partner in Dilworth Paxson’s Trusts and Estates Group, concentrating her practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and taxation. She advises individuals and families on developing comprehensive estate plans, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives, while helping clients address tax exposure, family dynamics, business interests, charitable goals, and the practical realities of transferring wealth from one generation to the next. Her experience includes sophisticated planning for blended families and closely held business owners, multigenerational wealth planning, charitable giving, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. Lisa’s approach is designed not only to address a client’s current circumstances, but also to anticipate what may change and create a plan that can serve the family well into the future.
Lisa understands that estate planning and estate administration often involve deeply personal decisions during significant life transitions. She begins by listening carefully to each client’s goals, concerns, family dynamics, and priorities before developing practical, tailored solutions that balance legal, tax, and personal considerations. Lisa is known for making complex legal and tax issues understandable, explaining not only what a plan does, but why it is structured that way and how it advances the client’s goals. Whether helping a family provide for a spouse while preserving assets for children from a prior marriage, determining how a family business should pass to the next generation, or developing a charitable planning strategy, she provides clear, personalized counsel and keeps clients informed throughout the process.
When Lisa is brought into an estate or trust administration, she helps fiduciaries and beneficiaries navigate every stage of the process, from probate and tax filings through post-mortem planning, asset distribution, and the resolution of disputes. She advises executors, trustees, and corporate fiduciaries confronting significant assets, unfamiliar fiduciary obligations, tax exposure, complicated ownership interests, and disagreements among beneficiaries. Her experience includes resolving death tax audits, administering estates involving assets across multiple jurisdictions, advising on the administration and termination of substantial trusts, modernizing irrevocable trusts under the Pennsylvania Uniform Trust Act, and negotiating family settlement agreements and other resolutions to disputed distributions. Lisa is committed to identifying potential issues early, minimizing unnecessary cost, delay, and conflict, and helping fiduciaries and beneficiaries move forward with clarity and confidence.
