Overview
Jamie assists individuals and families with complex estate administration and probate issues and offers estate and tax planning services to high net worth individuals, business entities and the individual and corporate fiduciaries who serve them. Her work involves the preparation of estate planning documents and post-litigation tax planning. She also reviews and prepares fiduciary income tax returns, complex gift tax returns, Federal estate tax returns and state inheritance tax returns. She works closely with her clients to understand and accomplish their goals with tax efficiency.
Representative Experience
- Counseled a client and corporate fiduciary on the tax benefits of a Donor Advised Fund
- Advised an administrator of a Qualified Settlement Fund regarding compliance with the Internal Revenue Code and related tax filings
- Assisted beneficiaries receiving inherited IRA / 401(k) plans regarding their withdrawal obligations under the SECURE 2.0 Act
- Provided post-litigation tax planning advice to maximize a client’s Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax exemption
- Worked collaboratively to successfully appeal a taxing authority’s rejection of the date of death value of litigation proceeds
- Prepared an amendment to an antenuptial agreement to accommodate changes in the client’s financial circumstances
- Represented clients before the Orphans’ Court in Guardianship proceedings
