Joseph R. Loverdi counsels federal financial institutions on operational, compliance and regulatory issues. As outside general counsel of the region’s largest federal credit union, he has extensive experience with regulations and guidance issued by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, National Credit Union Administration and other federal banking agencies. He understands the issues that these institutions face and provides guidance on best practices for reducing compliance, legal, strategic, and reputation risks.
Joe also has over 20 years’ experience litigating complex commercial cases in both state and federal court involving business disputes, breaches of contract, environmental and toxic torts, antitrust and trade regulation, real estate and construction defects.
From 1996 to 1997, Joe served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph H. Rodriguez of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Before attending law school, Joe was an auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP, during which time he passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountants examination.
