Top Prosecutor Joins Dilworth Paxson LLP

June 17, 2015 (Philadelphia, PA) – Dilworth Paxson LLP is pleased to announce that Linda Dale Hoffa, a federal and state prosecutor with 29 years of experience handling complicated and significant cases, will join the Firm as Of Counsel on July 6, 2015. Ms. Hoffa will co-chair the Firm’s Corporate Investigations/White Collar Group, which handles all aspects of criminal matters including conducting internal investigations, representing witnesses and targets in grand jury investigations, stewarding clients through parallel criminal and civil proceedings, and trials and appeals.

Ms. Hoffa is the former Senior Executive Deputy Attorney General at the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. She also served as Executive Deputy General Counsel in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel, where she was the senior attorney handling criminal legal issues for all executive Commonwealth agencies. Over the course of her career, she has been involved in numerous high-profile matters, including the reversal of Pennsylvania's ban on same sex marriage. She also prosecuted complex fraud, corruption, and environmental crimes.

From 2009-2011, Ms. Hoffa served as the late Senator Arlen Specter's senior criminal counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary. From 1984 to 2009, she was an Assistant U.S. Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia, where she served as Chief of the Criminal Division in her final four years. Prior to that, she led financial fraud and corruption investigations and trials, and also served as Chair of the Criminal Chiefs Working Group at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), an advisory group that develops national policies and programs in coordination with DOJ leadership.

Ms. Hoffa is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers, has taught trial advocacy courses for 15 years at both Villanova and Temple law schools, and presently lectures on criminal investigations at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and received her B.A. in History from Rutgers College. She and her husband reside in Bryn Mawr and have two daughters.
