Jim Hennessey represents financial institutions and commercial landlords in all aspects of negotiation and litigation of delinquent commercial and real estate credits in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. Jim’s experience includes representing secured creditors in legal evaluations, strategy, forbearance negotiations, and collection and litigation strategy. He has extensive experience in representing financial institutions in sheriff sale proceedings in state court, including tax sales.

Representative Experience

  • Represented financial institution in a replevin the Court of Common Pleas action to recover property pledged as collateral for secured loan.
  • Represented secured lender in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the Western District of Pennsylvania to restructure loans for two related nursing home facilities resulting in a confirmed Chapter 11 plan.
  • Represented commercial landlord in State Court ejectment action to remove tenant from property.
  • Represented numerous financial institutions in mortgage foreclosures and sheriff sales for commercial real estate.
  • Represented a secured lender in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of PA with respect to the reorganization of Continuing Care Retirement Community Debtor resulting in confirmed Chapter 11 plan.
  • Represented leasing company in liquidation of commercial leasing portfolio.
  • Represented trustee for bondholders in sheriff sales of properties pledged as collateral for the bonds.
