Dilworth Paxson's Tax Group focuses on tax planning and tax controversy. Members of our group assist with federal, state and local tax planning issues including mergers and acquisitions; partnerships; pension and employee benefits; tax insurance underwriting; Chapter 11; real estate and other investment syndications. We also focus on estate disputes; gift tax disputes; corporation income tax; individual income tax and insolvencies.
A unique resource of Dilworth Paxson’s Tax Group is that many of its lawyers have experience in tax controversy work, having served as trial lawyers at the IRS or the U.S. Department of Justice. These lawyers have represented many of the firm’s clients in complex tax litigation and administrative settlements involving a wide range of tax controversy resolution. While the Tax Group lawyers occasionally draw upon the firm’s Litigation Department for support, all tax litigation is handled by a tax lawyer, providing both tax litigation experience and technical acumen.
