Mark H. Vacha, a partner in the Public Finance Group of Dilworth Paxson LLP, recently presented at the Government Finance Officers Association of Pennsylvania - East Regional Chapter's meeting held in Villanova, Pennsylvania.
The presentation titled "The Current U.S. Economy and its Impact on Local Government" covered the recent economic crisis, what federal government is doing to deflect it, and how local government will be affected.
Vacha presented a summary of the new bond provisions in the federal fiscal stimulus legislation and their potential opportunities for local governments. The discussion focused on the bond finance initiatives of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and emphasized in particular the Build America Bond program provisions.
Vacha is a partner in Dilworth's Corporate Department and Securities Group. He advises issuers, non profit organizations and national and regional investment banking firms in municipal capital markets transactions.
