Maura Fay McIlvain is a partner in the Litigation Department. Ms. McIlvain represents clients in claims under federal statutes and provisions governing civil rights, securities, RICO, anti-trust, bankruptcy and credit reporting. She also represents clients in claims under state statutes and common law governing contracts, employment, defamation, malpractice, conspiracy and privacy. She also has extensive experience in matters initiated in federal, state and bankruptcy courts, primarily on the East Coast, as well as in alternative-dispute resolution.

Ms. McIlvain’s most recent successes include the June 2011 Third Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision affirming dismissal of plaintiff’s claims under 42 U.S.C. §1983 and under state law for conversion, conspiracy and invasion of privacy-false light, and the August 2011 Superior Court of Pennsylvania decision dismissing, as moot, plaintiff’s appeal of an order granting defendants’ motion for summary judgment on the grounds that plaintiff was defamation proof.

Ms. McIlvain is part of a team of Dilworth lawyers who represent McKesson Corporation on a regular basis. Earlier this year, Dilworth was notified that it had been designated by McKesson Corporation as a “Go To Law Firm” which designation will appear in the soon-to-be published Corporate Counsel.

Search Tips

Our Web site's search function employs a variety of techniques to help you make the most of your queries. In this tips section we use square brackets [ ] to signal queries, so [antitrust and litigation] is one query, while [antitrust] and [litigation] are two.

  • Exact phrases: Eliminate unnecessary search results by surrounding your search phrase with quotation marks. Placing ["project finance"] in quotes will return specific results and discard additional results that simply have the words "project" and "finance" peppered on a page.
  • Wildcard symbol: If you're not exactly sure how a piece of information you want is phrased, use the following symbol (*) as a word root expander. A search for [child*] will find not only "child," but also results with words like "children" and "childhood."
