John Consevage is a partner in the Firm's litigation practice and focuses his practice on vehicle dealer franchise law. He has broad and diverse experience in dealer franchise matters, including terminations and brand discontinuance, ownership sales, transfers and relocations, dealer facility requirements, warranty and sales incentive program audits, and various types of protest, licensure, and enforcement matters before the Pennsylvania Board of Vehicle Manufacturers, Dealers, and Salespersons. John has focused on vehicle dealer issues for over 20 years, and has worked with representatives and counsel to address and solve complex issues under the Pennsylvania state dealer franchise laws. In association with the Firm's automotive industry group, John has broad experience representing clients in transactional, corporate, and other business-related matters that are unique to the vehicle dealer industry.

Representative Experience

  • Successfully represented Pittsburgh area automobile dealership in challenging manufacturer’s denial of relocation request in hearing before the Pennsylvania Board of Vehicles
  • Successfully represented Philadelphia area dealer in challenging manufacturer’s denial of request for change of ownership in hearing before the Pennsylvania Board of Vehicles
  • Successfully represented Harrisburg area truck dealer in challenging manufacturer’s denial of request for retail warranty service and parts rate reimbursement requests under Section 9 of the Pennsylvania Board of Vehicles Act
  • Successfully represented Pittsburgh area dealer in federal court with respect to manufacturer untimely exercise of right of first refusal
  • Successfully represented various automobile and truck dealers in acquisition and sale of dealership franchises, including sale dealership of real estate
