Dilworth White Collar Attorney Addresses Antitrust Issues Before Bar Committee
Dilworth Paxson White Collar attorney, Christopher H. Casey, Esq. recently participated on a speaking panel before the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Mergers and Acquisitions Committee of the Business Law Section on the topic “Antitrust Issues with respect to M&A Transactions.”
In his presentation, entitled “Merger Review Process at the FTC: Nuts and Bolts,” Mr. Casey gave an overview of the Federal Trade Commission’s process for analyzing the competitive impact of proposed mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Casey, who previously spent nearly six years as a staff attorney at the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, described the agency’s internal process, from the recently-updated Hart-Scott-Rodino filing requirements to merger challenges in federal court, and provided practical tips for getting deals approved. Other panel members were David Wales, Deputy Director of the FTC Bureau of Competition, and Stephen A. Stack, Jr., Esq., of Dechert LLP.
Mr. Casey is a member of Dilworth Paxson’s Litigation Department and its Corporate Investigations and White Collar Group, where he concentrates his practice in white collar defense, internal corporate investigations, criminal and civil antitrust, and complex commercial litigation. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Casey was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
He received his law degree from the National Law Center at George Washington University in 1987 and his B.A. degree in mathematics from the College of the Holy Cross in 1983. Mr. Casey is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia.
