Laigaie Debates Department of Justice Recent Policy Changes at Bar Committee Meeting
Dilworth Paxson partner and Chair of its Corporate Investigations/White Collar Group, David M. Laigaie, Esquire, recently participated in a panel discussion of the Department of Justice’s recent changes to its policies concerning the decision to indict corporations. The discussion was hosted by the Professional Responsibility and Professional Guidance Committees of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
Mr. Laigaie was joined by Patrick J. Egan, Esquire of Fox Rothschild. LLP and assistant United States Attorney Frank R. Costello. The three debated whether the Department of Justice’s new policies, as embodied in the “McNulty memo,” adequately protect corporate and individual rights or give the government an unfair advantage when investigating corporate behavior.
In his fifteen years of practice, Mr. Laigaie, a Chestnut Hill resident, has obtained substantial experience in health care fraud and abuse matters, including litigation, white collar defense, internal corporate investigations, and complex civil litigation. He is a frequent lecturer and the author of a variety of related articles.
