WASHINGTON D.C., September 17, 2009 — Louis K. Rothberg, of counsel in the International Law Group at Dilworth Paxson LLP, is now serving his final year of his three year term on the International Law Section Steering Committee of the D.C. Bar - to which he was elected in 2007 by the full Section's membership, which is composed of approximately 2,000 DC international law attorneys. For 2009-2010 Rothberg has been chosen to also serve as the Steering Committee’s Liaison to the Committee on International Trade. The International Trade Committee deals with practice areas such as national defense trade and dual use export controls, CFIUS (the Committee on Foreign Investigations in the United States), and dumping and countervailing import relief. Rothberg focuses his practice on export controls and those matters that come before the CFIUS concerning foreign investment that could threaten or impair U.S. national security. He also engages in international trade compliance issues such as foreign boycotts, embargoes and asset controls, international armaments cooperation agreements, foreign military sales [FMS], and Defense Department contracts.
