Prominent bankruptcy lawyer Dean C. Waldt has joined Dilworth Paxson's Bankruptcy and Insolvency Group as a Partner. Waldt will be resident in the firm's Cherry Hill office.
"The firm's bankruptcy practice is national in scope and continues to expand," said Anne Marie P. Kelley, Co-Chair of Dilworth Paxson's Bankruptcy and Insolvency Group. "Dean is a skilled and experienced lawyer. He will be an excellent addition to our group and will be an asset as we continue to increase our scope of practice and range of services."
In addition to handling bankruptcy matters, Waldt's practice includes commercial litigation, business reorganization, and corporate finance. He represents banks, institutional lenders, and retail, manufacturing, technological, transportation, and health care companies in bankruptcy matters. Waldt has experience with creditor-rights litigation, including foreclosures and replevin matters. He has conducted negotiations in corporate loan restructurings.
Waldt has been ranked by The Deal as one of the busiest U.S. bankruptcy lawyers by number of new matters and as one of the top U.S. bankruptcy lawyers by number of active assignments.
He is a graduate of Villanova University School of Law, Fuller Theological Seminary, and Grove City College. Waldt is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
"Dilworth has the ability to offer the depth of practice clients expect from a large firm but can still provide the individualized attention clients have come to expect from smaller organizations," said Waldt. "I am pleased to join Dilworth and will be able to utilize the firm's various resources to better benefit my clients."
Waldt was previously vice-partner-in-charge of the Bankruptcy, Reorganization, and Capital Recovery Group at Ballard Spahr.
