PHILADELPHIA, April 8, 2009 - Michael J. Tierney, partner at Dilworth Paxson LLP, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of Mission Kids.
Mission Kids is dedicated to easing the criminal justice process for abused children in Montgomery County by centralizing the necessary support services for these victims. The organization provides a multidisciplinary center for the team investigation of child abuse cases in accordance with nationwide standards established by the National Children's Alliance and the federal Department of Justice.
Among his other activities, Tierney is a trustee of the Please Touch Museum and the Woodmere Art Museum. He is also founder and former chairman of the Steward's Alliance, an organization established in conjunction with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to coordinate volunteerism and fundraising for the vulnerable and needy.
A partner in Dilworth's Corporate Department, Tierney handles a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity financings, corporate governance issues, and general corporate representation.
