Associate, Litigation Department.  Mr. Schiavo concentrates his practice in the area of complex commercial litigation in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has represented an array of clients, including public entities, insurance companies, universities and both large and closely-held corporations in a variety of complex matters involving business and corporate disputes, breach of contract, environmental law, toxic tort, products liability, real property disputes, legal malpractice and insurance coverage litigation.

Representative Matters: 

• Obtained a confidential seven figure settlement on behalf a public agency for severe property damage to a public facility resulting from alleged tenant negligence and engineering malpractice.
• Successfully represented the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority in a bid protest involving a multi-million dollar railway completion project.
• Case preparation for the Paoli Railyard Superfund dispute on behalf of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority and Conrail, which resulted in a $38 million settlement. This settlement was the second largest verdict or settlement in the state of Pennsylvania in 2005.
• Successfully litigated a breach of lease matter on behalf of a coin operated laundry equipment supplier which led, at trial, to a full recovery of all liquidated damages claimed.
• Trial team member in an employment discrimination jury trial brought by a university professor which resulted in a defense verdict for the client.
