Areas of Focus:

Deputy Chair of Dilworth's Litigation Department and Chair of its Environmental Group and Co-Chair of its Construction Group. His practice has an emphasis on construction, directors' and officers' insurance and environmental issues. Mr. McIlvain has tried more than fifty cases and arbitrations in his more than 20 years as a litigator. His matters have included numerous high profile cases and he has been quoted in numerous newspapers including the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post.

With an engineering background, Mr. McIlvain has the ability to handle technically complex cases.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

  • Represented the Kimmel Center in its internationally reported case against the architect of the building.

  • Represented the Rigases in their successful recovery from the Adelphia Officers' and Directors' Policy.

  • Took a leading role in resolving disputes surrounding the construction of Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles, and the National Constitution Center.

  • Represented a court appointed trustee in the successful recovery of assets for investors.
